AirPort and Time Capsule owners have a bunch of updates to install courtesy of Apple this week. The Cupertino mammoth rolled out new software that extends the Guest Wi-Fi network for a network configured with several wireless base stations.

The first and smallest update is AirPort Utility 6.2 for Mac, a new update that adds “the ability to extend the Guest Wi-Fi network on a network that is configured with multiple AirPort Base Stations,” according to Apple.

AirPort Base Station and Time Capsule Firmware Update 7.6.3 does the same. Additional enhancements include the ability to add a WPS-capable Wi-Fi printer, and support for additional countries.

“This update is for all 802.11n AirPort Express, 802.11n AirPort Extreme and Time Capsule models,” Apple states.

The company recommends that AirPort Utility 5.6 (or later) is installed before updating to firmware version 7.6.3.

To configure the extended Guest network, users on OS X Lion 10.7.5 (and newer versions) will require AirPort Utility 6.2.
