A new EFI firmware update is already available for Mac Pro (Late 2013) computers, even though the powerful new workstations are yet to be shipped to end users.

Named Mac Pro EFI Firmware Update v2.0, this 5MB software package is said to be recommended for all Mac Pro (Late 2013) models, as it “improves system reliability during reboot, resolves an issue with memory self-test, and improves graphics power management when using Boot Camp.”

Since the new Mac Pro ships with OS X 10.9 pre-installed, the minimum OS requirement is Mavericks. The computer model needs to be MacPro6,1, just in case you’re not sure what hardware you have.

Softpedia readers can download Mac Pro EFI Firmware Update 2.0 at the supplied link. Users who already own a Mac Pro (Late 2013) model can also use Software Update (from the Apple Menu or the Mac App Store) to fetch the update.
