Apple has pulled Coinbase - Bitcoin Wallet from the App Store, giving the developer no explanation as to why his app was not welcome in the Cupertino giant’s digital distribution venue of applications.

Coinbase - Bitcoin Wallet allows users to buy, use, and accept bitcoins, with funds being stored securely online in case the customer loses his / her phone. It’s still available on Google Play, for Android devices.

Users could also remotely disable the app without losing any funds.

Making purchases with the app instantly syncs transactions with your web account and across all your devices that have the Coinbase app installed.

You can also use it to send bitcoins via email, QR code, or NFC with zero transaction fees, and check out exchange rates in one of 160 local currencies. It also supports multiple Coinbase accounts in one interface.

“We’re not sure why it was taken down and we’ve reached out to Apple to request clarification,” Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong tells Tech Crunch.
