Speaking to the Wall Street Journal in an interview, Apple’s chief executive officer, Tim Cook said Apple was going to create new product categories, and that he is confident in the company’s long-term growth.

I don’t know about you but when I hear Tim Cook tell WSJ that “there will be new categories [of products in 2014],” coupled with saying that anyone “reasonable” could easily guess what that product is, iWatch immediately springs to mind. Here’s the full citation in context:

“‘There will be new categories. We’re not ready to talk about it, but we’re working on some really great stuff,’ Mr. Cook said. … He said that anyone ‘reasonable’ would consider what Apple is working on as new categories.”

Apple just recently bought back $14 billion of its own shares, and over $40 billion over the past 12 months.

Of that, Cook said, “It means that we are betting on Apple. It means that we are really confident on what we are doing and what we plan to do. We're not just saying that. We're showing that with our actions.”
