After releasing a new version of Final Cut Pro X, Apple today updated the video editing suite’s sidekick apps, Compressor and Motion.

You can learn all about FCP X 10.1 and Compressor 4.1 at the supplied links. We’re now here to take a look at the changes slipping inside Motion 5.1.

According to the official release notes, the effects app now offers optimized playback and rendering on Mac Pros with dual GPUs, namely the new models put forth by Apple earlier today.

Video editors also get FxPlug 3 with custom plug-in interfaces and support for dual-GPU hardware, faster project loading (with a particular emphasis on projects of great complexity), an option to share directly to YouTube at 4K resolutions, and Spanish translations.

Download Motion 5.1 for any Mac running OS X v10.9 or later, with 4GB of RAM (8GB recommended for 4K), OpenCL-capable graphics or Intel HD Graphics 3000 (or newer), and 256MB of VRAM (1GB for 4K).
