Apple has announced iPhoto for iPad, the third iLife application on iOS devices. iPhoto arrives alongside the new, updated versions of iMovie and GarageBand.

iPhoto includes Multi-Touch features that allow users to sort through hundreds of photos, enhance and retouch images, and share photo journals with iCloud using simple gestures.

The updated iMovie gives users the ability to create Hollywood-style trailers with HD video recording, whereas GarageBand introduces Jam Session, a cool new feature that allows you to wirelessly connect with your iPad buddies and play instruments and record live music together.

“Each app takes full advantage of the stunning Retina display on the new iPad for incredibly sharp and realistic images and video,” Apple said today.

The updated GarageBand and iMovie are not currently available on the App Store. Apple is also yet to upload iPhoto to its servers. Each app costs $4,99, the company has confirmed.
