Apple expanded its digital distribution venue to a flurry of new regions within Africa, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific. The Cupertino computer giant now has its App Store present in a total of 152 countries.
New countries include Albania, Benin, Cambodia, Cape Verde, Congo, Chad, Gambia, Liberia, Mongolia, Mozambique, Namibia, Nepal, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Zimbabwe, and more.
At WWDC 12, Cook said the App Store had 400 million accounts with credit cards, 650,000 apps (225,000 of which are made specifically for the iPad) and 30 billion downloads. He also said that Apple had paid over $5 billion to developers selling their apps the Apple way.
