iOS 7.1 Beta 4 includes patches that prevent jailbreaking with current tools

According to hacker iH8sn0w on Twitter, Apple has patched the jailbreak exploits used in evasi0n7 with the release of iOS 7.1 Beta 4 to developers yesterday.

The hacker doesn’t expressly state that evasi0n7 is no longer capable of jailbreaking iDevices as of iOS 7.1, but this is what we’re left to understand from his conversations with his Twitter followers (screenshot above).

A while ago, news broke that the evad3rs – the team behind evasi0n – had lost some exploits that could have been used to create a jailbreak for iOS 7.1. It remains to be seen whether that’s true or not.

Demand for jailbreaks is certainly lower than, say, two years ago when Apple had very few customization options in iOS. Things have evolved since then, but jailbreaking is still required for numerous apps and services that the Cupertino giant doesn’t allow in its App Store.
