2015 is off to a great start, and no one could be prouder than Apple. A memo posted by the company on its Developer portal acts like a pat on the back for coders who sell software in its App Stores.

Apple mentions that the first week of January marked record-setting sales in the App Store, with New Year’s Day marking “the single biggest day ever in App Store sales history,” according to the memo. The Mac maker adds, “Your incredible apps generated over $10 billion [€8.45 billion] for you and your peers last year, and to date, developers have earned a cumulative $25 billion from the sale of apps and games.”

The company ends by linking to the full press release regarding App Store sales published last week. There, Apple also reveals stuff like what the most popular games currently available in the venue are, how many apps are available in total (a whopping 1.4 million on last count), details on iOS 8 development and the success of its new programming language (Swift), details on Apple Pay, and more.

Despite seemingly targeting iOS developers only, the memo is also targeted at registered devs who sell software in the Mac App Store. However, because of the much smaller number of apps and downloads scored on the desktop front, the numbers generated on the mobile platforms take the spotlight.
