Earlier today we reported on a rumor that Apple is about to introduce an upgraded TV box in the coming weeks, and the company is now pretty much confirming it with an offer that ties iTunes Gift Cards to every Apple TV purchase, in what appears to be an effort to deplete existing stock.

Apple has instructed retail employees to give every Apple TV buyer an iTunes Gift Card worth $25 (€18) starting today. The news was initially reported as a rumor but Apple is now confirming the initiative via a PDF containing the terms and conditions for the offer.

The document states that, “Qualified Individuals who purchase an Apple TV between February 28, 2014, and March 5, 2014, may receive an iTunes Gift Card […] that can be used at the iTunes Store, the Mac App Store, the App Store, and the iBooks Store.”

The iTunes Gift Card value is confirmed at $25 (which comes to around €18) in the United States. The document doesn’t include the iTunes Gift Card value for territories with currencies other than US dollars. The offer may thus be available only to the United States.

The deal is valid while supplies last, according to the document. A maximum of five iTunes Gift Cards per household may be obtained.
