As reported earlier today, May 27, a bug in the Message app of Apple's iOS mobile operating system can cause iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch devices to crash or reboot.

We have already recommended users a solution to prevent their iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch devices from being crashed by the text message bug, but the real fix would be a software update from Apple.

According to WSJ, who talked with Apple about the annoying Messages bug, the Cupertino company says that they are aware of the issue and they have promised a patch very soon.

"We are aware of an iMessage issue caused by a specific series of Unicode characters and we will make a fix available in a software update," promises Apple in an email to WSJ.

Let's hope that the software update for the iOS 8.3 operating system, which might be in the form of an 8.3.1 patch, will be available to users worldwide in the coming days.

Apple should release the patch very soon, because it appears that numerous iPhone users are being "pranked" these days and their iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch devices crashed due to that nasty iOS bug in the Messages app.
