Apple has increased the base pricing of applications in its iOS and Mac App Stores following a spike in taxes in the European Union. As a result of the ballooned €0.89 pricing for cheap titles, developers will be earning a tad less, while end-customers will pay 10 Euro cents more for every purchase.

Countries so far confirmed to be affected by the hike include Italy, Spain, The Netherlands, Portugal, Greece, Poland, Germany, France, Belgium, Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Luxembourg, Hungary, Russia, and Romania.

TNW reports that the amount of increase in each country seems to stem from an increase in local taxes in these territories.

The cut developers get from sales routed through the Apple App Stores will now be translated into a slightly smaller figure, according to the source.

Apple has also added new currencies in its App Stores, including Russian Rubles, Turkish Lira, Indian Rupees, Indonesian Rupish, Israeli New Shekels, Saudi Arabian Riyal, South African Rand and UAE Dirham, according to AppAdvice.
