Instead of lowering the prices for its already expensive Macintosh computers, Apple is actually making some models more expensive in certain territories.

Due for a processor upgrade momentarily, the Mac mini in Australia, Brazil, Portugal, and Malaysia is more expensive today than it was yesterday.

As revealed by 9to5mac, Aussies used to pay A$699 and A$899 for the standard models, or A$1,099 for the Server configuration. Now, the same computers retail for A$749, A$999, and A$1,249, respectively.

The situation is similar in the other countries enumerated above (with near-equivalent price hikes in their respective currencies).

Apple recently gave the iMac line a speed bump, and the Mac mini is said to be next in line for a similar upgrade, which is said to include a faster (Haswell) processor, some new memory/storage options, and 802.11ac Wi-Fi.
