Customers can now expect to receive their orders in 3-5 weeks

After months of struggling to cope with demand (or build the computers in a timely fashion, like the Chinese do), Apple can finally say it has improved the shipping estimates for its powerful Mac Pro workstations.

Of course, 3-5 weeks is hardly a major improvement, but it’s still better than the two-month estimate from before. It still isn’t clear what’s going on, as the product has been around for almost half a year and demand cannot be that high for such a pricey computer.

Apple is known to have commissioned manufacturing of these things in Austin, Texas. The company once said it was difficult to build the Mac Pro, which may be the culprit here. The same happened with the all-new iMac from 2012. A new design is always difficult to handle in the first months.

So you can now order your brand spanking new Mac Pro for $2,999 / €2,999 or $3,999 / €3,999, depending on your preferred configuration, and there are also some attractive build-to-order options available. If you’re lucky, you can get it before the end of May.

Visit the Apple online store to review your options and, if you’re really out to buy this Mac, consider the fact that shipments can be delayed again. We’ll keep you posted if anything changes in Apple’s shipping estimates.
