At a conference held in Shenzhen, China, Apple confirmed plans to have AirPlay and multiple iOS accessories working on the Bluetooth standard, a move that would expand the AirPlay wireless devices market by a factor of 7.

Apple’s plans to expand the MFI (Made for iPod/iPhone/iPad) Program for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth were confirmed at a conference called “MFI Technology Summit 2011” in Shenzen, China.

The initiative targeted more than 2,000 members of the MFI Program who, between December 7-9, learned that iOS is gaining immense traction yet MFI Program Licensed products aren’t mimicking that trend.

The company will therefore support a new chip that literally puts MFI devices and iOS devices on the same wave length via AirPlay, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The company reportedly touted the Bluetooth 4.0 standard originally implemented in the iPhone 4S.
