Apple is hiring a software engineer for the Messaging Services division to “help develop Apple's messaging platform.” According to the advert, the ideal applicant is “a solid generalist with great technical chops.”

In usual Apple manner, the job posting is chock-full of epithets aimed at enticing potential candidates to apply for the position and help Apple get iMessage back on its feet.

Apple’s text messaging service, like the rest of the company’s cloud offerings, hasn’t been the most reliable product in its portfolio for the past year or so.

Which is why the Cupertino giant is actively seeking personnel to address this matter. The latest job advert states:

“An exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer to join Apple's Messaging Services team. We build the cloud systems that power some of the busiest applications in the world, including iMessage, FaceTime and Apple Push Notifications. You'll have the opportunity to explore a wide range of technologies, developing the server software that is driving the future of messaging and mobile services.”

In short, come aboard and help us make this thing work.
