Apple’s EasyPay system is about to kick into gear with the company equipping stores with blue EasyPay signs that indicate you can buy a product yourself.

The cat was out of the bag earlier this week, but only now has Apple begun preparing for the new service which (if I understand correctly) will allow customers to walk in a store, scan a product with the updated iOS Apple Store app, and walk out without even talking to a retail staffer.

Apple was expected to implement the new functionality yesterday, which included updating its iOS application, but it appears BGR had some bad intel.

It is also believed that Apple will require some form of confirmation before customers check themselves out of the store. As a result of this confusion, the media dubbed the process “EasyTheft”.
