The company offers a temporary workaround for the freezes as it prepares a patch
In a freshly-released Support document, Apple acknowledges a freezing issue with the trackpad and keyboard on its newest MacBook Pro computers, noting that a fix is in the works.According to KB article TS5296, “Apple is aware of rare circumstances where the built-in keyboard and Multi-Touch trackpad may become unresponsive on 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display (Late 2013) computers and is working on an update to resolve this behavior.”
The company will most likely roll out a small standalone patch to address the problem. In the meantime, users who keep bumping into this issue are told to put the Mac to sleep for a minute every now and then.
“If you experience this issue, reset the keyboard and trackpad by closing the computer’s display for approximately one minute and then open it,” says the Cupertino giant.
