Analysys International, a China-based research firm, reveals in a new report that Apple holds almost three quarters of the consumer tablet market in the country.

Compiled by Taiwan-based DigiTimes, the analysis reveals that Apple owned 71.6% of the consumer tablet market in China during the fourth quarter of 2012.

Analysys International added that, business-wise, the top dog in tablet shipments was Eben, which “had the largest market share at 41.9%, followed by Samsung Electronics with 21.0%, Asustek Computer with 6.6% and Lenovo with 4.5%,” according to the report.

Apple’s popularity among regular consumers is not surprising, but it seems it will take a while before it can replicate this success in work environments in China.

The Cupertino giant is known to be pushing hard to gain more momentum in the country, not only with its tablet computers, but also with the hot-selling iPhone.
