Apparently, Tim Cook will be too busy to join the NCCN's March 15 roundtable discussion

Timothy Cook, Apple’s chief executive officer, was recently invited to NCCN 17th Annual Conference: Clinical Practice Guidelines & Quality Cancer Care scheduled March 14 – 18, 2012.

A roundtable discussion (“Cancer and Corporate America: Business as Usual?”) was supposed to feature the Apple CEO as a speaker, though he appears to have declined the invitation.

The official NCCN site had listed Cook as an “Invited or Confirmed Panelist” until yesterday. It was believed that his close relationship to Steve Jobs, who died last year of pancreatic cancer, would be a relevant topic of discussion at the meeting.

As of today, Cook is no longer on that list. The apparent reason is that the Apple CEO sent the NCCN a letter to inform the group that he will not be able to attend the roundtable discussion on March 15.

Too close to the iPad 3 launch, Mr. Cook?
