Apple has approved a video camera app called “iVideo,” suggesting that the company has begun loosening up regarding the approval of apps that start with the iconic “i” prefix.

Over the years, Apple has rejected numerous applications that used i-Words in their name. Even things that remotely sounded like the company’s iPods or iPads have been frowned upon at Apple. Not anymore, apparently.

Apple this month approved a free video recording app called iVideo, which puts four live camera / playback views on your screen, allowing you to pre-select special effects for recording, or to review multiple videos side-by-side.

You can pinch to expand/contract full screen views, and it allows you to see how the effects impact your videos before you select them.

iVideo also has social ties, allowing users to upload their videos to Facebook. Additionally, it can play your video creations on an AirPlay-connected HDTV.
