For the past two days, programmers have been experiencing downtime on Apple’s developer site, with some being unable to submit application binaries to the App Store.

For a while no one knew what the reason was, but now Apple is officially apologizing for the downtime, confirming it is carrying out maintenance on its developer web services.

The company states, “We apologize that maintenance is taking longer than expected.”

“If your program membership was set to expire during this period, it has been extended and your app will remain on the App Store. If you have any other concerns about your account, please contact us. Thank you for your patience,” says Apple.

So there you have it. Unfortunately, this apology doesn’t do much good to developers who had an update or a new release scheduled for this period.
