A tipster has forwarded Tech Crunch an email according to which Apple will be inviting a small group of people to an iTunes event in Moscow’s GUM, a shopping center located on the capital city’s Red Square.

Scheduled for the evening of December 4, the event will be held by Apple’s iTunes team in front of a few select people (probably mostly journalists).

The invitation-only gathering will be hosted at the GUM shopping center on Moscow’s Red Square.

According to the aforementioned tech-site, the email was sent out by Irina Efremova, a staffer at Apple’s Public Relations department in the country.

The iTunes Store launch in Russia has been expected for quite a while with early reports saying it was scheduled for October 2012.

Sources cited by the RIA Novosti Russian news agency later said the launch would be delayed until November, while the same media outlet recently noted that the launch was “delayed indefinitely," according to Tech Crunch.
