New “Editors’ Choice” section also included featuring internal tweaks

Whether or not Apple plans to make a habit out of promoting free apps, this week the company announced on Twitter that Cut the Rope: Experiments was its “Free App of the Week.” Apple has also instated an "Editors' Choice" section.

The Cupertino giant published a tweet yesterday announcing that Cut the Rope: Experiments was the free application of choice for this week. The app generally sells for $0.99 (0.79 EUR) for the iPhone version and $1.99 price (1.49 EUR) on the iPad.

“Cut the Rope: Experiments is our #FreeAppoftheWeek. Go to the App Store for your free download. http://tw.appstore.com/uUj,” reads the tweet.

It was later revealed that the App Store itself had undergone some changes. Apple now features a new "Editors' Choice" area where the company lists internal picks.
