Developer says that Apple backtracked on its decision

Transmit developer Panic has released a statement confirming that Apple has back-pedaled on its decision to reject an update to the app, allowing it to continue to use Send To functionality as before.

Essentially crippling one of the app’s basic functions, this week Apple told the developers at Panic that Transmit iOS 1.1.1 would not be allowed in the App Store with the ability to “Send” files to other services, including iCloud Drive. It probably had to do with security, but for one reason or another, Apple decided to exonerate Transmit and allow this functionality back in.

We suspect that it had to do with the bad press surrounding the rejection. Panic only says that it is very happy that that things turned out the way they did, and that it is proud of Apple, despite the bumpy ride.

“After a considerate conversation with Apple, Transmit iOS 1.1.2 has been released with restored ‘Send To’ functionality. While the process feels less-than-perfect, this resolution is a nice reminder that, just as we thought, there are good people at Apple who will push hard to do the right thing. We hope you enjoy Transmit iOS 1.1.2,” the developers say.

To download Transmit, you’ll need to shell out ten bucks (€8.99) and you’ll require a handset with iOS 8.1 installed (iPads work as well).
