14 DAY TRIAL // App tracking company Appsfire reports that Apple is about to hit the 1-million-apps milestone with its iTunes Store. Prepare for a new countdown and a contest.
The Appsfire tweet reads, “Boom! 950k live Apps in the App Store. Soon 1 million. Very very soon!” The company doesn’t include a detailed description of how they reached this conclusion, and they don’t have to.
Just recently, Apple confirmed that its App Store offered “more than 900,000 apps in 155 countries around the world.” According to data gathered by Appsfire, the Cupertino giant approves around 50,000 new titles once every two months.
Which means Apple will soon kick off another one of its cool iTunes competitions where the person who downloads the 1 millionth app gets a hefty iTunes Gift Card, and perhaps some other gifts.
