On June 6 Chitika Insights rolled out quite an insightful analysis which reveals a huge discrepancy between iOS and Android users, as well as the fact that almost everyone is running iOS 6 ahead of the big iOS 7 unveiling.

In its report, Chitika shows that Android’s ecosystem is quite fragmented, with many old versions of the software scattered across numerous user bases.

Apple’s chart looks a lot cleaner and, from a loyalty point of view, the user base is a lot more inclined to use the latest version of the iPhone and iPad operating systems.

Mere days before the iOS 7 unveiling, almost 93% of Apple’s iPhone user base is using iOS 6. On the iPad front, it’s 83%.

Also worth noting, iOS 5 is the preferred operating system by 5.5% on iPhone. On iPad, that number climbs to 13.4%.
