Adobe has released Kuler, a free app for iPhone and iPod touch users which lets you capture color from real life, create customized themes and apply them to your photos and designs.

The color themes you create can be synced to the Kuler website, which other color enthusiasts enjoy. The samples can then be used with other Adobe applications.

“Whether you’re a designer, artist, developer, hobbyist, craft maker, or just somebody who loves color, Kuler will transform your phone into the ultimate color inspiration tool,” says Adobe.

You can choose a theme and adjust the colors with the color wheel, edit the colors using RGB sliders, employ five pre-set color moods in camera mode and six pre-set color rules in the color wheel, as well as set a base color to identify others that go with it.

The app is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad and requires iOS 5.1 or later.
