14 DAY TRIAL // The winner of Apple’s $10,000 iTunes Gift Card was flown to the company’s headquarters in Beijing for a visit to the corporate offices, M.I.C. Gadget reports.
After her visit to the Apple China HQ, Qingdao resident Fu Chunli was taken to the company’s Sanlitun retail store to collect her prize. A press event was held, complete with an award ceremony.
Fu Chunli is not even a fan of Apple’s iPhone or the App Store. She had owned her Apple handset for about a month when Apple confirmed the winner of the 25 billion downloads contest. She was still learning how to use the App Store, according to the report.
Needless to point out, Fu also didn’t know anything about the contest, and thought she was being hoaxed when Apple China called to let her know that she had won. She eased up only when an official email from Apple arrived. Following Apple’s official announcement, her friends then called her up to congratulate her.
